Halloween's a great time to spend with family. You can do many things together, like carving pumpkins, attending a costume party, or getting together and watching a scary movie. But one of the best things you can do is go Trunk or Treating!

As you’ve probably guessed, Trunk or Treating is a new twist on an old tradition. Instead of going door to door, families decorate their cars and hand out candy from the trunk. For many, Trunk or Treating is a safer, less spooky alternative to the age-old tradition of trick or treating. This provides an excellent opportunity to get the whole family involved in the Halloween spirit! Plus, it's an excellent excuse for us gearheads to show off our vehicles’ Halloween decorations. If you're thinking about Trunk or Treating this year, here are a few tips to ensure you have the best experience possible.

Decorate Your Car Trunk in a Fun and Creative Way

This is the time to let your imagination run wild! You can choose straightforward or creative Halloween decorations. Some gearheads keep things simple with few essential decorations, while others go all out with full-blown displays. From pop-culture references to mythological analogies, whichever route you choose, make sure your decorations are family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.

Get Your Hands on CANDY!

No family wants to run out of candy too soon! Make sure you have plenty of candy on hand so everyone who comes to your car leaves with a sweet treat.

Join Us for a Trunk or Treat Event!

Now that you have your car, the family, and treats ready, it's time to head out to an event and have some spooky fun. And what better way to top off a memorable day than attending upper Cumberland's biggest Trunk or Treating event?

Cumberland Auto Center's Trunk or Treat event is back and bigger than ever! This year, we expect over 50 trunks, multiple bounce houses, costume contests, and more. And, of course, our Trunk or Treat event wouldn't be complete without a DJ playing all your favorite Halloween tunes all night long! Here's everything you need to know about our Trunk or Treat event so you can join in on the fun.

Why You Have to Attend Cumberland Auto Center’s Trunk or Treat

Cumberland Auto Center’s Trunk or Treat is the largest event of its kind in Upper Cumberland. With 50-60 cars participating, you’re sure to find plenty of treats for everyone in the family. In addition to candy, you'll also find bounce houses and a costume contest with prizes. And don't forget about the DJ playing music all night long!

Share the Spirit – Make Someone Smile

As responsible community members, Cumberland Auto Center has our community’s welfare and well-being at the top of its agenda. We ask that each participant bring a nonperishable food item to donate to needy families this Halloween season.

Trunk or Treating's an excellent way to invoke the Halloween spirit with your loved ones. So, make some memories, eat some candy, and enjoy yourselves!

But before you load up your trunk with candy and decorations, there are a few things you need to do to make sure your car is ready for the big night. Follow these tips, and you'll be sure to have a spooktacular time!

1. Check your lights. This one is crucial if you're trunking or treating at night. Check all your lights—headlights, tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals—to ensure they are in working order. You don't want to get pulled over by the ghosts and goblins on patrol!

2. Test your horn. You never know when you might need to honk to alert a trick-or-treater. Ensure your horn is in good working condition so they can hear you!

3. Fill up your tank. Trunk or Treating can be a lot of fun, but it can also be a lot of work. You'll be doing a lot of stops and starts, so you'll want to ensure you have a full tank before you head out for the night.

4. Inspect your tires. Just like with your lights, it's essential to ensure your tires are in good condition before you head out Trunk or Treating. Check tire tread depth and air pressure to ensure they are ready for the evening's festivities.

5. Clean out your trunk. This one is important for both safety and aesthetics. Before you load up your car with Halloween decorations, take some time to clear out any unnecessary items from your trunk. Not only will this give you more space for storage, but it will also help prevent anything from moving around and becoming a hazard while driving.

6. Choose the right candy. When picking out candy for Trunk or Treating, it's essential to choose something that won't melt in the heat or freeze in the cold. Individually wrapped chocolate bars are always a good choice, as they can withstand the heat or cold and eager trick-or-treaters!

7. Decorate responsibly. It's tempting to go all out when decorating your car for Trunk or Treating, but resist the urge! Remember that you'll be driving around with these decorations, so be sure to choose something that won't block your vision or impede your ability to drive safely. A few well-placed props should do the trick!

8. Have fun! Trunk or Treating is about having fun and showing off your Halloween spirit! So, relax, enjoy yourself, and let the good times roll!
